Pots and Pots of Luck

I have succesfully put off everythging I could have done yesterday for a busy morning of getting Bunk Beds from becket and installing them in to a tornado alley called The Girls Room, grocery shopping, a complete overhaul of the ENTiRE house, vaccuum and mop, clean out fridge...yada yada. But 75% of thise things are done and the potluck dosnt start for 2 hours. I hope it will be some fun, lots of kids running around the yard with dads with beers in pursuit. women eating and chatting, that seems like how most of these things end up. Endless fun, Im just hoping it doesnt rain, it isnt a beautiful day, per say, but pleasant if it doesnt pour buckets.
Im off to find the floor in the girls bedroom....I wonder if Ill make upto the playroom, im doubtful.

Whats for Dinner, and stuff

I made shepards pie. I used onions, white wine and garlic and tomato paste to season the meat, then I mixed the corn and cheese together and layer, then garlic mashpotaoes with cream and butter. all sorts of yummy badness.
i rarely cook, and this stuff happen to be in the freezer/cab inet/freezeer. Its a 'were to poor to go shopping' meal. i enjoy cooking that way..Lee has to spend $$$$ galor to cook, but its caterer/high class resturaunt grade.

I like adding ornge juice to things, it adds a level of flavor..Wine, liquer, fruit juices, tomtoeds, liquidy stuff, they make the meal moist and yummy.

I have been feeling manic for the first time in like 4 or 5 weeks. I think its because I woke up at 3 am the other day, then worked and was up for 20 some hours straight. Since then I have been "on go'. I got allot done on the house, so thats good. i got my period so maybe I wont be PMSy any more. Im disappointed though, I went so long with NO SYMPTOMS. Life is struggle ya know?

We went to the river for the first time today, This is a place we go almost everyday in the summer. It was nice. My bus is fitting my summer motif (of life)

Fruitcake

Christmas Fruitcake Recipe
1 cup water
1 cup sugar
4 large eggs
2 cups dried fruit
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup brown sugar
lemon juice
nuts
4 litres whisky.

Sample the whisky to check for quality. Take a large
bowl.
Check the whisky again to be sure it is of the highest
quality.

Pour one level cup and drink. Repeat.
Turn on the electric mixer, beat 1-cup butter in a
large, fluffy bowl.
Add 1 teaspoon sugar and beat again.
Make sure the whisky is still OK. Turn off mixer.
Break 2 legs and add to the bowl and chuck in the cup
of dried fruit.
Mix on the turner. If the fried druit gets stuck in
the beaterers, pry it loose with a drewscriver. Sample
the whisky to check for tonsisticity.
Next, sift 2 cups of salt. Or something. Who cares?
Check the whisky.
Now sift the lemon juice and strain your nuts. Add one
table. Spoon.
Of sugar or something. Whatever you can find. Grease
the oven. Turn the cake tin to 350 degrees. Dont
forget to beat off the turner. Throw the bowl out of
the window. Check the whisky again. Go to bed.Who the
hell likes fruitcake anyway?

smells like India

I cooked again. Saffron rice with chicken stewed tomatoes and baby onions and lots of yummy stuff like cumin and redwine and paprika, basil... it was one of those pull dinner out of an empty refridgerator nights. I didnt like it that much but the girls ate it and Leland loved it. It feels damn good to cook. its never been my strong point, and thats putting it lightly. Maybe its the hibernation but if I get anymore domesticated I'll send myself to the fucking zoo.
Another thing is my drink of choice haas changed seasons. Summer always bring Kete and Tonic, lighter beer and anything with a lime. Now its guiness, and LOTS of red wine, it makes me feel warm inside. ANYTHING that makes me feel warm I'll take about now.

Guiness

After a full on manic day of scrubbing the house down to bits and going to the mall and finishing ALL BUT 2 LOADS of laundry (this is an amazing feat in a house of 3 girls), even folding and getting Lee to fold his clothes, I was walking around in circles just exploding with mania. Lee wanted to sit down, take a bathe, watch tv, some activity that didnt involve me moving - and I could NOT clean anything else. We have a routine of getting into fights when Im off the wall and the routine comes from me picking at him til he says something mean and then I cry and cry and have..basically a tantrum...so after I went so far as to lay the kids clothes out, pre-pack snack and pre-make the coffee maker for the morning, I went to the bar. I was the only one there.. other than my cousin Becky who was workng. I pounded guiness after guiness, even a few CarBombs (drop a jameson & baily's shot in half a Guiness and chug for those who dont know). I could not stop talking and being so loud (that was before I got drunk, then I calmed down alittle). I found out some good friends of ours are pregnant. Well shes pregnant, hes still not so sure about it. I thought that was pretty humorous, that he could just say they weren't sure yet if she was or not and that would make it not a possibility. Basically they arent ready. He's not read to lose her to the hormones and craziness that comes with a pregnancy....not when he just got her back. Their kids will be the same age difference as my girls, a few months shy of 2 years apart. I dont know too many people that PLANNED on having their kids close together like that, most people I know who have kids close 'meant' to have then 4-6 years apart. The 1st 6 months had to be about the gardest ting I ever did i my life, Labor was nothin - and iwas in labor for 56 hours or something ridiculous. Without hipMama I would have just lost it. Online communities are so imprtant for moms who are at home for extended periods of time.
So today I have a headache. bad. But I have coffee and its already made, and I have the cleanest house on the block. and I have the cutest little munchkin sitting on the couch in the 'princess dress' that she slept in last night. I asked if she had 'princess dreams', and she said did.
Usually I have a hard time pushing myself to go out even if Leland is agreeable but Im glad I left last night, I'm glad I took that energy somewhere it could be used for good and not evil.
